Start with the scope of the claim.
A label may accurately say the pajama fabric is 100% cotton even when the finished garment also includes elastic, thread, buttons or trim made from something else. Material First records these products as 100% cotton at the textile-fabric level rather than implying that every component is cotton.

Look for a percentage tied specifically to the fabric, not just “cotton-rich” or “cotton feel.”
Other components
Waistband elastic, buttons, thread, trim and prints may not share the fabric composition.
